We have only ever been here for the fish fry, so I can’t comment on the rest of the food. It is the best in the area, so good they serve it two nights a week! A comment - fish fry on Friday is a Wisconsin tradition, served with cole slaw, potato salad, and for some reason, one slice of light rye bread lightly buttered. No, I don’t know why. Lost in the mists of time. But most of the fish frys are simply horrible. Cold fish, greasy, terrible coating. It is just amazing to me that something so basic can be so messed up. I have had fish and chips all over the British Isles and never had a bad meal, from the tiniest chippie in the smallest town to big pubs in London. But the Northwood of Wisconsin is stymied by the recipe.
But not Moondance. They get it right. Great fish fry, terrific drinks and a gorgeous lake view.

Moondance is always a great place to go. They have decent wine (most places don’t), good food and friendly service. We have gone as a couple, as a family and with large groups. We have had most everything on the menu. My favorite is their prime rib. It is thrown on the grill right before serving so has great flavor. However, all items are very good.

Moondance is located between Eagle River and Rhinelander and is a year round favorite of the locals. It has a small outdoor deck that faces Mill Lake. It has the BEST fish fry in the Northwoods. Fortunately, they offer their fish fry on both Thursday and Friday. It fills up quickly on Friday, but Gloria, the owner, is a master of seating people and overseeing the dining area. They also have great sandwiches! You can't miss coming here for lunch or dinner at any time of the year.

Just had another excellent fish fry dinner at Moondance. Excellent haddock, lightly breaded, hot out of the fryer. Meal includes cole slaw, herbed roasted red potatoes, wheat roll. All are excellent. and the best tartar sauce for the fish. it must be homemade. We always find a way to get here for fish fry every visit. They have fish on Thursday and Friday, so go Thursday if you don't want to stand and wait. I've also had the clam chowder and it's equally good.
